Michael is Lecturer in Romantic and modern literature at St Catherine’s College and Wadham College, Oxford. He teaches widely across literature in English since 1750, especially the Oxford papers in modern literature (1830-1910 and 1910-present), literary theory, and the finalists’ paper in Eighteenth-Century and Romantic literature (1760-1830). He has served on the Oxford Board of Examiners and for postgraduates teaches and examines for the Faculty’s MSt in the nineteenth century.
